L.A. Gear Lights are back

Christmas eve, 1992 (ish). You've pawed all the presents under the Christmas tree. All the ones addressed to you feel like jumpers or CD wallets. You don't really believe in Santa anymore but you're hoping if you leave out some Tim Tams and a beer, you're gonna find a pair of L.A. Gear Lights with your name on them left under the tree in the morning...Never got a pair? Me either. I was the loser who had to be satisfied by bitterly envying the cool kids who'd some how managed to swindle a pair of Lights.
But never fear - L.A. Gear Lights are back! According to the L.A. Gear blog, the new Lights are due to drop in around 20 days time at Sportie L.A. They'll be available in 2 colourways:
Personally, I think the white are a bit bland, but the greys are pretty dope. And the lights are an intoxicating novelty! I'm sure they've be available to us Aussie's on eBay within seconds for an over inflated price.

Pump up the jam

Friday night Espionage Chinatown played host to the Reebok Pump 20th Anniversary party. Even jetlag, 40 degree heat and a hangover couldn't keep me away.
Would you like some candy?
Smack! Happy 30th Dion.
Glenn got his drink on.Axis of evil.
Glad it wasn't me who'd had to clean up the mess. Dope party non the less!

Shock to the system Part 2

And that is what you get when we're left alone with a free photo booth. Get your flicks from the G Shock the World party here.

Shock to the system Part 1

My flight touched down in Sydneytown at 9.30am Thursday morning and after 24 hours of flights and transit, I wasn't content to sit at home and suffer jetlag.

Within nanoseconds of turning my phone back on and adjusting to the ridiculous heat, I was getting a zillion messages asking if I was gonna go to the Casio party at the Carriage Works in Darlington that night. Honestly - how could I refuse? Especially when I knew behaviour like this was gonna come out...
An epic combination of excessive free booze, prizes, balloons, photo booths, dancing, Hoops, Dexter and my girls Ki Ki, Amber and Emma made sure that this was a hilarious night.

Fuck me, I'm famous! Part 3

I made the Methods blog! Shout outs to Dave Gee and Diggadee!

New York: My Little Apartment

Here's my little NYC apartment. It's in the East Village, right near First Ave on the L Line.
It was a cosy little joint, complete with a cute fire escape that lead all the way up to a rooftop that you could access. It was a little hot sometimes, but it was snug when it got cold!

New York: Last Day

I spent my last full day in NYC chilling with Meggs and checking out some of the Manhattan spots I hadn't had the chance to get to. After chowing down on an amazing lox scallion bagel, we hit Central Park for a bit of a wander.
Which of course was followed by more food. We ended up at the Lexington Candy Shop on the Upper East Side where we ate giant club sandwiches.
Then it was off to the Guggenheim. They had a Kandinsky exhibition running, but to be honest I was more impressed by the building itself.
Kandinsky isn't really my thing, but I do like some of his geometric abstract work.
I was however ultra impressed by the Anish Kapoor sculpture, Memory.
Then we walked over to MoMA. Unfortunately it was getting late - MoMA closes at 5.30pm. We got there just in time to be given free entry for a little taste of what MoMA has to offer. We got kicked out just as we got to the Warhol's.

After that, I finally got to see something I've been wanting to see for years and years. Robert Indiana's Love sculpture.
Then a bit of a mission through Chinatown, and ramen noodles in the East Village. What a day!
