It's called Crazy 4 Cult and it's currently showing in L.A. (and finishes on the 8th August so hurry up!) If you're in L.A. and you don't go, you're crazy! Check these out...
"The Torrances" by Kirk Demarais. This dude is a freaking genius who paints family portraits of the most disfunctional families on the big screen. And you can pick up this print for just US$65. I'm getting me one!
These prints by 2cents are sooooo dope. Unfortunately these 'Trap' prints have already sold out! So cool...
But perhaps my personal fav is "Zissou Route" by Casey Weldon. If you're as much of a Wes Anderson buff as me, you'll know what I'm on about - but for everyone else, I'll explain my excitment. "Zissou Route" is a spoof of this painting called "Bad Route" (1998) by Miguel Calderon:
"Bad Route" was used in the movie The Royal Tenenbaums during the scenes in Eli Cash's (played by Owen Wilson) living room.
But perhaps even funnier is the story behind how this painting (in fact, a series of paintings) came into existence in the first place. These paintings are listed as being by Miguel Calderon. But the story goes that Calderon is an Art Director, and he shot the series as photographs. Calderon liked the concept, but didn't like the execution (how's that for ad nerd mumbo jumbo?!) so he contracted an unknown portrait artist to paint the photographs. The paintings were shown in a gallery and Wes Anderson bought "Bad Route". The End.
Well almost. Just for shits and giggles, here are the 3 other paintings in the series called “Aggressively Mediocre/Mentally Challenged/Fantasy Island (circle one)” by Miguel Calderon.
Above: “Attack”, 1998
Above: “Escape from Caca-ville”, 1998

I really love the “Aggressively Mediocre/Mentally Challenged/Fantasy Island (circle one)”series, it's up there with some of my favourite artwork ever. And I now love "Zissou Route" - a spoof of a spoof. Awesome.
